Since 1995 Oman has worked towards Vision 2020 with the aim of diversifying its economy away from oil through targeted diversification and investment plans and by building a stronger and sustainable economic and business environment. Vision 2040 farmers on Vision 2020, continuing its non-oil economic focus, strengthening the business, economic and investment climate while opening its economy to outside businesses and investors.
To achieve this the National Program for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh) will focus on improving Oman’s investment climate and ease of doing business to encourage greater domestic and international investment in 5 key sectors; tourism and hospitality, manufacturing, mining, logistics and agriculture and fisheries
